Developmental Editing

If you're concerned about the direction of your story, whether you nailed your message, if your characters are well-rounded or fully developed, and all the other writing hits and misses you may or may not have been aware of, let me take a look. Before you change one more thing... Before you ask another friend or beloved family member to "have a go at it," let's sit down together and review—line by line, page by page, chapter by chapter, even character by character (fiction).

A developmental edit provides:

  • Detailed feedback of your written content (up to eight pages) after careful consideration of its strengths and weaknesses. This feedback can lead to significant changes in your manuscript and your overall writing, dramatically speaking to everything right, wrong, or in-between—or otherwise everything good, bad, or indifferent.

Take my recommendations and know exactly what to change, add to, or remove altogether before second-guessing yourself one more time (or offending someone off the bat). Feel confident that your story is your best story before you proceed, for it is my dream that all creatives make our way in the world and are celebrated for our worth and our contributions. Complete the Contact form with all necessary information to schedule.

SatRah Anuket Ra, From Fear to Freedom, Shaundale, Developmental Editor, Black Editor, Stony Rhodes

Thank you for my editorial review! I was nervous, excited, and deeply moved. SatRah Anuket Ra

I do not take for granted that we are all one collective body, working towards one common goal. Books are works of art, and I count it joy to have been serving readers and writers worldwide for over a decade. May these stories live on forever, long after ours have been told.
