Now accepting editing projects for February 2022.
"The only way to get her to be quiet was to take a book everywhere." Diane Hornes, Mother
A small-town girl with big-time dreams, I am a native of Bunkie, LA, who has dreamed of writing since my days in middle school. Now an accomplished writer and a talented editor, I reside in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex where I share my stories, and my gifts, with readers and writers around the globe—including indie authors, traditional and vanity press publishers, and traditionally published authors, turned indie. It has been my distinct honor to work with Queen Afua (Impeccable Listening, December 2021), Laila Ibriham (Carnations, February 2022), and Oludara Adeeyo (Self-Care for Black Women, January 2022).
If you're ready to take your writing to the next level, then you are in the right place. There's just one little thing: Here, I'm just Shaundale, and writing is everything! No last name... No titles... (I basically got tired of being Mama-Honey. At the school, I was the kids' mom. At his job, I was Derrick’s wife. Lawd, can I just be me???) So, now I’m just me, and this is my world—the one I created to share with only you... Just us writers!
As a result of what I do, people around the world have found the courage to confidently share their stories. Because, in here, it's safe! You're safe. I provide Transformational Written-Results book coaching, ghostwriting, and developmental editing. All that means is I get it done! Results proven! Let me show you how to write your truth—creatively in your own unique voice. Who do you know with a book inside of them that I can help them write? If it's you, then welcome home.
"You can have the best-written story that makes absolutely no sense. A copyeditor cannot fix that." Shaundale Rénā
Welcome to your home away—a place to tell your own story and write it well. S. Rénā + Co. Editorial Boutique is a small, woman and minority-owned business that specializes in heavy substantive and developmental editing that goes beyond the surface of your content to create the story every writer longs to share—one every reader longs to read.
Imagine writing your final draft and getting it into the hands of a few good friends or professional colleagues, only to find out there are holes in the story or the content is all over the place. If they're not honest, you might celebrate your success and head to the printer. If they are, you may throw it in the trash or file it away for years to come. Before you do either, why not let me take a look at your manuscript? (Author bio and back cover synopsis are included.)
Developmental editing includes:

See you on the other side of the page!
Developmental Editor | Transformational Writing Coach
Listen, I'm convinced some people don't want to see us happy. They want to see their perception of happiness projected onto us, and that's a load of bull. Free yourself to live the life you want to write about. Just write it right—the first time!
What's your story? Are you a survivor? Were you once the underdog? Why not tell it yourself?
Because every coach sees things differently, this is a safe place for the pages of your life to be re-written and chapters to come together again to honor the story you want the world to hear. Recycle the past; your next idea is but one word away. Write it.
There was a time when I knew I wanted to write. I just didn't know what. Sound familiar?
If that's you, then why not:
No matter where you are, or what you went through to get there, pen your purpose. The world needs your story, so let's get together and set some goals, start a new writing prompt, or finish an old one that gets moved farther along. Go ahead! Treat yourself to a story worth living. Start your next season now with transformational book coaching. You'll thank yourself later.
Click the link below for your free 30-minute Discovery Call because a good book can grab anyone's attention, but only a great one will hold it! By the way, if you're writing a tiny book (nonfiction) or a short story (fiction), I welcome your manuscript! Let's connect to brainstorm and set goals for you to start living the life you deserve, Your Best Write Now. You're worth it!
When the going gets tough, the tough get to writing—except sometimes they don’t know how, don’t have the time, or simply don’t want to. They just know they need to tell their story.
With everything else you have going on, wouldn't it be nice to let someone else do something for a change? Well, here's where I come in. You tell me your story, and I'll write it. It's just that simple.
The truth is, while everyone has a story worth telling, writing is not everybody’s cup of tea.
"But, I don't want to write."
Does that sound like you? If so, then schedule some one-on-one time to plan your outline. I'll take it from there. Because writing your story may be therapeutic, but telling it is freeing.
You're in the "write" place now! So let's get it done together!
Click the link below for your free 90-minute Discovery Call. It's time to get back to what you do best, so let's both shine together. You set the stage, and I'll write about it—one step at a time!
