What's Your Story?

Welcome to S. Rénā + Co. Editorial Boutique! I'm not the highest, but I'm also not the cheapest.

"The only way to get her to be quiet was to take a book everywhere." Diane Hornes, Mother

Undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with in the world of freelance developmental editing, S. Rénā + Co. Editorial Boutique, LLC is a minority-owned and operated elite editorial services provider, specializing in heavy developmental and substantive editing. Founded by ten-time international award-winning editor and writer Shaundale Rénā, clients range from independent to traditionally published authors with fiction and nonfiction titles, as well as B2B organizations.

If you're ready to see what editing with a dose of OCD looks like, then you are in the right place. As a result of what I do (and how I do it), people around the world have found the courage to confidently share their stories. Because, here, it's safe! You're safe. Your story is safe. Let me show you how.

Who do you know with a book inside of them that I can help them birth? If it's you, then welcome home.

Shaundale Rénā, developmental editor, Black freelance editor

Remember who you are. Believe that you can.

    ~ Where Transformation Happens ~

When you get a voicemail from the one and only NY Times bestselling author, holistic health practitioner and wellness coach of more than four decades, master teacher and healer to the stars, Queen Afua, life slows you down to celebrate—something I'm just learning to do. #WhenLifeMakesYouPause | Photo Credit: Keith Major

~ Who Better Than You? ~

When authenticity shows up, it mirrors you. Sometimes, it's the quietest voice that whispers, "Yes, you are enough." That's how I felt working with Kimberlee Yolanda Williams.

~ Why Being Yourself Matters ~

When you get to work with one of America's greatest professional athletes, and then you find out that he is [still] traveling the world (but this time as himself and not as a world-famous member of the Harlem Globetrotters), life reminds you that it pays to be true to you.

One of the biggest rewards of being Dr. Kevin "Special K" Daley's developmental editor is watching him just be Kevin—husband, father,  friend, and international award-winning author and speaker.

~ When Good Things Come Together ~

When you hear a message from the Zariah L. Banks, multi-award-winning author... Then you scream... I wanted to do cartwheels! This award is so timely because she deserves it, and I needed to remember to slow down and appreciate the moment.

Ayden Owens-Delerme, 2024 Paris Olympic Games, Track and Field Decathlon, Race of My Own

Ayden Owens-Delerme, 2024 Paris Olympian & #1 Amazon Bestselling Author

Spanish to English Translation: Ricardo Torres did an exclusive feature on Ayden Owens’ recent book, titled “Race of My Own.” In this play, Owens shares his memories and reflects on his experience as a member of the Puerto Rican diaspora. Through his pages, Owens addresses identity and sense of belonging, challenging perceptions and prejudices about what it means to be Boricua.

"Race of My Own" is not only a personal testimony, but also a declaration of love and pride towards Puerto Rico. In one of his most impactful statements, Owens comments: “For those who say that those from the Diaspora are not Boricuan, I tell you that our identity is not measured by geography, but by heart and commitment to our culture.” Courtesy of Telemundo, Puerto Rico (Click image to watch.)
